Janice de Souza
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
Janice has worked as a psychotherapist for over 30 years, both in the NHS and in independent practice. Her background was originally in nursing, specialising initially in psycho-dynamic psychotherapy and then re-training as a cognitive behavioural therapist at Oxford University. She has practised in this field since the mid1990s, also teaching and supervising post-graduate CBT trainees at Exeter University and in multi-disciplinary teams in the NHS.
She sees adults with either short-term problems or more enduring, complex ones – depression; stress and anxiety (including panic, phobias and obsessive- compulsive disorder); loss of confidence or self-esteem, and trauma. She maintains the ethical standards and professional updating requirements of the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP).
