Lucy Godfrey

Psychotherapist & Counsellor

Lucy is a psychotherapist and counsellor who draws on both the
humanistic and psychodynamic schools of therapy. This means that she
holds the client/therapist relationship at the core of what she does, offering
them empathy, kindness and an environment free of judgment to talk
about whatever challenges they are facing.

She also believes that much of our behaviour stems from our past
relationships and upbringing, and exploring this with her clients can help
them understand why they feel the way they do. She believes that
knowing ourselves better can enable the development of self-acceptance,
leading to an improvement in relationships, furthering our resilience in
dealing with that life can throw at us, and making better choices.

Although the decision to come to therapy can be daunting, she believes it
is the brave first step in exploring some of the problems you might be
facing. She ensures her clients have a supportive space where they feel
safe to discuss any issues they are finding it hard to deal with, offering a
warm, compassionate and non-judgemental approach.
